Travel tips

Here I have a list with 10 travel tips! When you have more travel tips comment it below, so we can all use the tips!

  1. Make sure you always have something to eat with you! You might get hungry in the middle of nowhere where you can’t buy food. The same goes for water. Make sure you always bring something to drink.
  2. Always bring cash with you. Especially when you don’t have a debit card from the country in which you are traveling, because sometimes your debit or credit card won’t work.  With cash on hand you have to watch out for pick pockets in big cities. If you divide your money between your pockets and your bag it can’t all be stolen at once. Lastly, if you visit another continent, put your debit card on worldwide.
  3.  Even though cash is important, never ever forget your passport and your debit/credit card. Those are the only things you really need, everything else you can buy if you forget it.
  4. Check the weather before you go, so you can prepare while packing. I had some unexpected cold trips, and I would have been able to enjoy them more if I had been more prepared.
  5. Download the map on Google Maps for where you are going. In a city you always have some WIFI somewhere, but in the mountains or nature there won’t always be WiFi or 4G. Not even now in 2020!! So be prepared! (Extra tip: if you want music, also download it before you go!)
  6. Make sure somebody knows where you are going and when you are coming back. So if something happens, they know where to look for you!
  7. In the summer and sometimes even in the winter. Put sunscreen on. It is better to put too much sunscreen on than to have a sunburn on your trip!
  8. Always take the safest way to your hotel/hostel/home. Especially by night! It is better to be home a little bit later but safe.
  9. Always visit the local tourism office/visitor center. They have great information there and sometimes even discounts. They can tell you a lot about the place where your are and that is a nice beginning of your trip.
  10. And last but not least: Explore the world with an open mind!
